This is the ermm i dunno what you call it but i call it the attendance board.. today limin and i wrote our names at the last 2 columns.. haha.

This is teh stupid machine that me and Limin worked with.. its called a logger.. cos like they do telephone surveys so every surveys will be recorded in this machine. and we the poor little interns.. hahaha.. will have to listen to a great deal of them and do validation... and this room is COLD. i mean COLD.. not just cool...

And in the same room... this is where tele-surveyors sit.. they call up people and they type the stuff on the com.. yup...

This is the front door of the company.. yup decorated with christmas tree. it wasnt like that on the first day. was supposed to be our immediate task to decorate it but.. hahaha. we were busy with other SKs.. ahahaha.

Ok this is like the rough structure of the office.. haha. thats wan ting in the picture on her desk.. hee. she's also an intern but she's from some australian uni.. gonna be with them for a month..

One of our jobs yesterday, had a focus group coming in and this set up's for their refreshments.. katrina said it must be of hotel standard. alan added that the singapore government is emphasising on GEMS. haha. (go the extra mile for service) so yah.. haha..

Ok this is the very cool room. u see when clients approach JRC to look for respondents, sometimes they have what we call focus groups.. more like a discussion based interview.. so u see throught that window is where the respondents sit and this room itself is where the clients sit. so its a one way see thru thing, the clients can see the respondents but not the other way round..so it very cool cos there's also like recording machines in this room.. in a way it looked like teh FBI interrogation room. hahaha. katrina was role playing police and thief there then . hahaha.

That's me and limin trying to take a picture through the reflection of the cool thing. haha. silly us..

Ok this is where we had delicious lunch for 2 consecutive noon. its very cool. its called cafe manna, a christian diner playing christian song. and i mean hip ones, not the old old type. they sell amazing green curry and tom yam.. great chicken cutlet and bubble tea with so many pearls your straw cant move in smoothly...haha.

tom yam and fish and chips from cafe manna.
and lastly... presenting to you... the JRC team.....

Tada!! My first ever... COLLEAGUES!!!!! haha.. ok lets go one round for intro..
Emmanuel: a very very quiet guy. indonesion roman catholic. but a malay.. cool right.. he said a lot of stuff.. more than normal when i gave him chocolates today.. hmm maybe he loves chocs? ahha.
Jennifer: new staff. as new as us. in fact i think she's one day newer than us. she reported work at on the 2nd day of our attachment and we waited outside the office together to wait for the doors to open...
Maggie: this crazy woman i dunno what she's up to... as wacky as the maggie mee.. she's got like a mirror mounted on her partition wall.. and she blast music from her headphones (which is good cos we all can hear) and she has a pink WIndows live messenger window. she's sitck thin and she still wants to do for a diet. well basically she's in charge of... stationary?? hahaha. cant rmb.. oh and she snacks a lot..
Katrina: wah.. she gave me the most work... all the very tedious work come from her.. like the 2 days transcripts... the validation that gave me shoulder aches.. and stuff like that.. but she was the one who brought us out to buy food for the focus group.. taught us lots of stuff.. yup.. learnt a great deal from her..
Thomas: the asst director of the company.. hmm tall and big guy.. treated us to vietnam lunch today!!! super nice.. its like beef stew and its wonderful!! yum!!!
Victor: BIG guy.. haha but very nice and friendly.. he's the one who will smile and ask is everything aright and stuff like that. oh he eats a whole abr of choc for desert adn he;s a member of california. hahaha. and he gave me two complimentary vouchers for starbucks!! so nice of him!!i think cos i mentioned abt how i love starbucks hot choc...
Jacquelin: hmm dun really know her cos she's on the other side.. haha. but quite a nice lady too!!
Ee Ping: another crazy one.. always tell lame jokes and stuff like that.. trying to be funny those kind. haha. but he also taught us a lot. and has been very friendly and nice to us. yup..
Maria: Hmm.. dun really know her. but at first was quite scared of her cos she looked quite fierce.. but after a while it was ok already... in fact she's quite patient with us. haha..
Dharma: another cool guy. indo chinese christian.. very nice and very friendly.. taught limin and i a lot of new stuff.. new skills.. and being very nice and very patiend with us.. he's like the very very nice kind.. alwats smiling and saying good morning. haha. also one big guy.. haha..oh and he;s like super neat kind. he come my desk he will put the surveys in order for me. hahaha. super funny. like its his instincts.. haha
Actually there's still ronald, my immediate 'mentor', wan ting the intern, and matthew the part-timer who are not in the picture. Ronald's quite quiet.. not really talking much but he's like the senior there.. Wan Ting has been sitting beside me.. but we dont really talk much cos we are usually BUSY with our own work... haha... but its surprising that she has got the same name as me!! haha. matthew's this part timer guy who is closest to our age group.. 19 if im not wrong.. erm.. this one really never talked to before.. but basically they all call him the SK master la.. haha.
the working world is really.. such a different place.. its not just the people you meet, or the work you do.. its about a total change of lifestyle.. its just so different, especially starking when my workplace is at Raffle's place, the key financial area of singapore. you meet all kinds of people in the workforce.. all kinds, all age, all good and bad.. everything.. like for example... christians who actualy smoke.. back slided christians.. people who go clubbing often.. people who are chain smokers... i mean its not like im despise them or what la.. its just taht sometimes we are so protected in our school environment that we forget that this IS the real world.. our school is not enough to educate us on all this kinda things.. and precisely why im glad im given this chance to see it. in a nutshell, a great experience.....
P.S. i learnt speaking over the phone too.
when answering...
"Good afternoon this is Joshua Research, may i help you??" (act pro tone)
when doing validation...
"Good afternoon, may i speak to _____? I am Vanessa calling from JRC and im currently doing a quality check on our interviewer.. Recently our interviewer did a face-to-face interview with you regarding ____. Do you remember? We just want to ask you a few questions to verify our interviwer's work. Is that ok? It would take less than a minute.."
