been long since i blogged, again.
just read an article on theonlinecitizen.com regarading homosexuality in Singapore. Apparently, Mediacorp got fined for endorsing gay lifestyle by showing a gay couple with an adopted child in one if their programmes. The article was very critical of MDA's actions towards the media and was shooting his head off how Singapore has a social stigma towards gays and that Singaporeans essentially hates gay, period.
Well, im afraid thats the truth mr author. We cannot tolerate gay, not for the government, not for some of the people. If you think thats seriously a problem (especially if you are gay) RELOCATE LA. there are places like the States which embraces gays. No one is forcing you guys to stay on in Singapore. why so xing ku stay here and try to fight for your 'rights' when u can enjoy all of them somewhere else. why try to change the perspective and mindsets of people here who are trying to live a normal life. there is a reason why the government is being anal about such things and it is pramatism. You cannot compare homosexual issues to the IR issue because you cannot deny the fact that the IR would help bring in high revenue for the country. What good does embracing the gay culture do to the country? more tourist come to have sex with gays here? i mean, be practical la. if you're talking about human rights, then all the more we should not loosen our standards towards homosexuality. i dun have to elaborate on the problems brought about by what we call human rights. just look at the States. that is what happens when u have RIGHTS. besides, if everyone fights about rights, then when there is a conflict of interest, which right is RIGHT? its ridiculous.
of course, as a christian, there is much more than secular arguments. but well, just to rebutt ignorant people who dont happen to be christians.
been busy with marking marking and marking. marking english is so tedious. just had a pile of geog paper come in. but geog is so much more enjoyable.
im facing a dilemma now. smu's pretty much out of the question. its just left with nus and ntu. i was pretty much decided on ntu until yesterday, i went for an interview at fass. it was the nus faculty scholarship interview (which i had no idea until i got there cos the lady who called me was sooooo kind). If i get that scholarship, it will cover my tuition fees. and im totally contented about that. but, the problem is, i feel like going ntu now. rrrahhhh. and silly me did not apply for ntu scholarship cos i thought i wont be going to ntu. also cos its quite a hassle to submit the documents and all. who would have thought. and i heard that its quite easy to get the ntu scholarship. rrahhhh. im just pinning my hopes on the mda scholarship. if i get that i'll zoom into ntu. if not, ill continue to be stuck at where i am now and THINK. so irritating.
