im really not the type who would post the details of a trip online but i jsut have to cos its AMAZING this time. God is just amazing to us! haha. here we go!
DAY 1We arrived at Phuket at about 1 pm in the afternoon on Tuesday. Margaret had warned us abt the weather conditions. it was supposed to be 70%, 90% and 30% chances of precipitation for tues wed and thu respectively. so we prayed really hard. when we reached Phuket, the weather was very cool. There was a slight drizzle even.
After checking into our hotel, we decided to take a walk down to Patong beach, where all the happenings were. We also made bookings to go Phi Phi island, a beautiful island off Phuket island , for a half day trip of snorkelling and island hopping. Since thursday was the most optimistic day for a blazing sun, we booked the trip for thurday. we realised we were quite free on wednesday since it was almost 100% precipitation. So we planned for ourselves a show at night. We continues to walk around before settling down to have a sumptuos seafood dinner. it was really yummy and we had really good ice cream there too. We continued to explore the vibrant nightlife of Patong before KO-ing in our rooms. yup, that was day 1. Nothin much, just exploring the whole resort area.
DAY 2We were greeted in the morning by a hearty breakfast. The resort, though not high end looking, was a cosy and homely place. The breakfast they served wasnt too bad. in fact, i think we enjoyed it. had gloria jeans coffee there! Since we were very free in the morning we decide to stop by the booth where we previously booked our tour to see what other activities we can do. In the end, we went for ATV. ATV stands for all terrain vehicle. Its this cute litle vehicle that looks like a mini jeep with big wheels. it was a long ride from there to the ATV place. HAI. 本小姐出师不利。When we were at the 'training ground' i accelerated too much such that i crashed into the bushes. stupid girls cant stop laughing at me. the people there didnt trust me since then and got me a boyfriend pillon rider to ride with me. SIAN. but ok la he was very friendly and helpful, and made sure i was safe in ALL TERRAINS. it was really a great experience. it started pouring halfway but that didnt discourage us. in fact. it was made more fun cos of the mud puddles all around. God is good! i felt like Rambo for a moment. hahaha. we had to wear plastic raincoats in all different colours. oh yah, when we booked the tour, we were told that there might be more people joining us, sekali ah, we had this private MPV picking us and only us up to the place. when we reached there, we realised that the tour was us and only us again! so we had the whole place to ourselves and we could go more places cos there were only 4 of us. when we left the place, it was 4 of us in the MPV again! executive arrangements! machiam tycoons! haha.
so we got back to the hotel wet, muddy and hungry. we were looking forward to the night show, called PHUKET FANTASEA. its beasically a clutural show in a musical with special performance. its this whole theme park thingy. we had the BUFFET dinner served in a luxurious 4000 seater ballroom before that. the food wasnt v good. but we had a great time wolfing them down (like what we always do) and we found something interesting in the toilet. on the handdryer it says 请勿打烘干机 hahahahaha. we had a great time laughing over that. since its like a theme park, there were a lot of places to take photos and stuff like that. The show was enjoyable. but i feel so much for the elephants (and the chickens. hahahaha) though im really impressed how they manage to manipulate these beasts, im really skeptical about the way they might have done it. take the elephants for example. there were loud explosive noises in the middle of the show and elephants are by right very afraid of loud and sudden noises. However, the elephants there were no less than indifferent towards it. Jingyu said they might have deafened the elephants and i have reasons to believe so too. hai. poor elephants, being paraded and exploited.
yup so the 90% precipitation day ended with a real bang jam packed with activities.
DAY 3YAY, Phi Phi island! the long awaited day! we got ready with our beach attire, bags and everything and had a satisfying breakfast. we were supposed to be picked up by 8pm but we had waited till 830. it was not only after some calls then we realised........ boats to Phi Phi were cancelled because the sea was too rough. how disappointing! to think we thought we had gotten ourselves a good deal cos it was half price! in the end we had to call the booth and get back our refund. so we decided to go down to the booth personally and see what can we do then. just then, the sky started to clear and we saw a program that says 'half day trip-Khai Islands'. it offered the same program as the phi phi island, with island hoping and snorkelling. we decided to go with that and when we were on the way there, the sun came out! God is good!
There were 3 Khai islands but i cant rmb their names. the guide who brought us there is super funny la everytime before embarking on the island itself, he will brief us on the boat and everytime it is the same 'this island is suitable for swimming snorkelling.... and relax on the beach'. After visiting the three islands, i didnt see the difference. haha. and whenever he wants to tell us to have free time on the island, he would clap his hands and go (in his thai accent) 'EVERYBODY, please, free time on the island...' hahahaha. we visited the first one for snorkelling. WAH SO FUN! first time snorkelling. all the fishes swimming in ur face sia. super cool. then we stopped by off the 2nd island to snorkel in deeper waters WAH THAT IS COOLER CAN! we saw beautiful corals, sea urchins and fishes right below us! so coolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll......then we went off to the 3rd island we decided to just sunbathe there when the guide suddenly threw a beach volley over and we started playing beach volley. ok this is my first ever experience playing volleyball. i know its unbelievable. but i just never got a chance to play it before. the irony is, my parents were volleyball players, both of them. hahaha. and i totally suck at volleyball. oh well. but we had a great time there. the sun was so good.....God is good.
one thing not good. my cam and hp were ruined because they got wet. HAI
oh did i mentioned, we planned for a muay thai boxing match that night too. so after reaching our hotels, we briskly took a shower and ordered food from room service. my first time again can. never order ood from room service before. hahah in this trip i dunno 献 how many 第一次s man.yup so after a fast meal, we proceeded to watch our FIRST every muay thai boxing match! we bought VIP seats so we were seating almost right beside the ring. so cool can! the boxers were as young as 6 years old!!! at first i thought that was totally like child exploitation. until, i watched them fight. sia la, its an art man. hahahaha. the last match was disappointing though. some ang moh guy came out and totally whacked the other guy in the first round and the game ended in less thatn a minute. we were like ?! it must have been pre planned, to please the westerners there. hahaha. the whole place was like 90% caucasians. as usual, we went back to KO in our rooms.
DAY 4packed our bags and were ready to leave for sg. God is good again because of the money and taxi probloems. shall nt go into details but it was good! then in the airport we saw singaporeans quarrelling over some baggae issues with the airport staff. like so diu lian can. they were like so loud. and they were so typically singaporeans. they were like 'give me all your names so i can take it down'.... like.....
yup thats what happened in Phuket!
2:46 PM
blessed.
